Stopping by an Auction house this morning to look at a Jukebox for the gameroom.
Back to work on the arcade tomorrow. This will be my first time gluing new vinyl onto MDF so it might take me most of the weekend as I’ll be taking my time. Wish me luck!

New blog design is complete. I will now be posting all of my updates from here and my blog will now autopost the update to Facebook so I can keep control over my content (and not Facebook). You can also use your Facebook account to comment on my posts. I will also have my [...]
Really? A 3 hour meeting on a Friday afternoon and you expect me to stay awake?

New red vinyl for the arcade. Not Scarlet like I wanted, but with the gray trim and Buckeye logos, everyone will still know that this Arcade belongs to a life long Buckeyes fan.

The control panel has been gutted. The laminate and 20+ years of little geeks hand sweat has been removed. It’s down to the bare metal.

Even with the heat gun, cleaning the control panel off is going to take a while.

Next up, disassemble the control panel, remove the old vinyl and measure for new buttons and joysticks.

I would have LOVED to keep the old CGA monitor but it had the words “Game Over” burned into it.

The laminate has been removed from both sides. Holy crap they used a crapload of hard ass glue when they made this thing 20+ years ago. My poor little heat gun got a work out today!

Removal of the 20 year old side laminate begins. Man it’s hot in the garage and working with a heat gun does not make it any better. This will probably take the rest of the day.

CGA monitor has been discharged of it’s 20-30 thousand volts and is now out of the machine. I’m still alive.

Gotta cleat up this rats nest as well. You do want to be very careful with these old CGA monitors. They can hold thousands of volts even when they are unplugged. Warning kids, if you don’t know how to discharge one correctly don’t touch it. It can kill you even when it’s unplugged.

The tear down begins. The hard part is going to be getting the laminate off of the sides with a heat gun and a putty knife.

Latest addition, this will look nice next to Theresa’s slot machine once I get some new vinyl and get some new Buckeyes artwork on it. It’s a real (not computer based) machine that plays 60 different arcade games (It uses a JammaBoard 60-in-1). Every version of pacman and a ton of other games as well. [...]

Theresa and her very own real slot machine! Happy early Anniversary honey! Now we just need to get a stand for it. This was the “fun” present, next month is the “romantic” present. Love you sweetie! Thanks for the best 10 years of my life!
